HOW DOES IT WORK?
About the competition
As a teacher or faculty advisor you can register a multidisciplinairy team of max. 6 students to compete in the GRAILS 2025 competition. Submit your project plan for a responsible AI solution connected to one (or more) Sustainable Development Goals. Underlining the importance of the role of artificial intelligence in achieving the SDG’s as well as recognizing that the meaning of “responsible” AI usage is highly context dependent.
After the kick-off, students will work with their own team to develop their responsible AI solution. The teams will have access to the GRAILS community in which we offer Q&A sessions, seminars and regular feedback and guidance from our GRAILS experts. We recommend teachers and faculty advisors to have regular check-in moments with their teams to provide supervision and guidance.
Teams can get to know each other in the GRAILS online community and give each other tips and tricks. The teams will present their projects during a live presentation to the judges and wider audience at the GRAILS week 2025 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands (2nd – 6th June 2025). We welcome the teams with a full-week program, filled with presentations, inspiring speakers, a hackathon, networking opportunities with other teams and industry professionals and a tour through Rotterdam*.
The winners will be announced on Friday, 6th of June at the GRAILS award ceremony.
Winners will receive a money price and eternal glory in the GRAILS hall of fame.
*Not able to join the GRAILS week in Rotterdam? We also offer an online GRAILS week program (2nd – 6th June 2025). Giving you and/or your team the possibility to present your AI solution online to our judges.
